Clean and precise trimming of pipes, hoses, and hard lines makes assembly easier, helps reduce the risk of leaks and fitting damage, and is a great way to impress detail-oriented tech inspectors and show judges; it just looks better. Choose the right tool for the job:
Soft Hose: For rubber air lines and other pliable materials, we recommend a cutter with a sharp blade and some way of holding the hose perpendicular to that blade, ensuring an end that sits flush against any fittings or connectors. For larger diameter hoses, or hoses with any sort of braided jacket, check out our selection of hose cutters as well.
Hard Lines:

Hard Lines: For steel, aluminum, copper, and PVC lines, the ideal cutter has a cutting wheel that’s pressed firmly against the line and then rotated around it. This creates a nice, straight cut and prevents the line from becoming crimped or bent. You may need some sandpaper or a reamer to deburr the cut end.
Exhaust Pipes: These tools have a length of flexible chain with cutting wheels or teeth attached. Wrap them around the pipe, adjust them to match the circumference of the pipe, and rock them back and forth.
