First introduced in 2002, the all-new Cadillac CTS was General Motors’ answer to popular luxury sport sedan rivals like the BMW 528i. Stylistically, the vehicle represented a welcome departure from the brand’s traditional design aesthetic with an aggressive, chiseled exterior that GM later adapted to other models. Beyond its looks, the CTS offered Cadillac fans even more to appreciate under the hood. The rear-wheel drive vehicle came equipped with a 3.2L V6 engine capable of producing 220 horsepower and was the first Cadillac since the 1988 Cimarron to include a manual transmission option. Later, GM discontinued the 3.2L base engine in favor of a new 2.8L V6 and added a more powerful 3.6L V6 capable of churning out 255 hp. Even more power came in the form of the first-generation CTS-V, a more performance-oriented variant, which came with a 5.7L LS6 V8 engine and later a 6.0L LS2 V8 engine.
