Though the first-generation Toyota Tundra achieved the highest initial vehicle sales in the company’s history, the vehicle was perceived by many as still being too small to credibly compete with heavier-duty offerings from the likes of Ford, Dodge, and GM. Toyota changed that with the launch of its second-gen Tundra in 2007, increasing towing capacity from around 7,000 pounds to up to 10,000. In addition, a payload capacity increase and features like extra-large door handles, a deck rail system, and integrated trailer hitch made it more viable for construction applications.

At launch, the new Tundra was available in 31 configurations comprising three bed lengths, three cab configurations, three wheelbases, two transmissions, and three engine options. The vehicle was initially available with a new 5.7L V8 engine capable of producing 381 horsepower. Toyota’s older 4.7L V8 and 4.0L V6 options also were carried over to the new model.
Over the years, Toyota added several new trims, including the “Tundra Grade” value option, the luxury “Platinum” package, and the off-road themed “TRD Rock Warrior” package. In 2010, the Tundra received updates to its grille and tail lamps, additional safety features, and a new 4.6L V8 engine to replace the older 4.7L version. At Summit Racing Equipment, we sell a variety of parts and accessories for the latest generation of Toyota Tundra models. Here are some of the most popular offerings available.
